Josh Tongue and Ben Duckett have been retained in England Men’s squad for the first Test of a five-match series against India.

Fast bowler Tongue, 27, and opening batter Duckett, 30, were both included in the Three Lions’ squad for the opening Test of the summer against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge last month.

Both impressed at their home venue, with Duckett striking a sparkling 140 in England’s 565-6 declared, before Tongue claimed two wickets, including that of centurion Brian Bennett.

Elsewhere, Jacob Bethell returns to the England squad, having missed the Zimbabwe Test due to his IPL commitments, while Jamie Overton is also included in a Test squad for the first time in three years.

The first Rothesay Test against India begins at Headingley on Friday 20th June, before four further contests take place at Edgbaston, Lord’s, Emirates Old Trafford, and the Kia Oval.
