All-rounder Joe Pocklington has joined Nottinghamshire on a short-term contract for the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Pocklington, 24, initially developed his game via Sussex’s pathway before catching the eyes of Notts with his performances for Lincolnshire in the National Counties system.

The left-handed batter and left-arm spinner, has also represented the Green and Golds in Second XI competitions this summer, hitting an unbeaten 114 on his most recent outing against Glamorgan.

His appearances for Yorkshire's Second XI earlier this summer, meanwhile, yielded successive six-wicket hauls against Northamptonshire and Derbyshire.

“I’m really happy to get this chance to play for Notts in the One Day Cup over the next month,” said Pocklington.

“I’ll be looking to make the most of it, and I’m relishing the opportunity to test myself and my game on this stage.”

Second XI Coach, Steven Mullaney, added: “We’re really pleased for Joe that his performances for Lincolnshire have seen him recognised with this opportunity.

“It also shows how strongly we at Notts value our partnerships with neighbouring counties, and we hope him taking this step can act as inspiration to many more young players from Lincolnshire.

“We wish him the best of luck during the One Day Cup and look forward to see him putting in big performances in an Outlaws shirt.”
