Young all-rounder Byron Hatton-Lowe has agreed a two-and-a-half-year rookie contract with Nottinghamshire prior to the start of the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Hatton-Lowe, 18, is a Nottingham-born graduate of the Club’s Academy who has been in sparkling form for the Under-18s this year, culminating in a handful of appearances for the Second XI.

The right-handed batter and right-arm seam bowler made a Youth ODI appearance for England Under-19s in 2024, in which he claimed figures of 1/23 from four overs.

“I’m absolutely delighted to sign a contract with Nottinghamshire, which is something I’ve dreamed about since I first got into cricket,” said Hatton-Lowe.

“I was born in Nottingham and I grew up locally, so it’s such a proud moment for me and for all my family. I’m so excited about what the future holds now.”

Academy Director, Matt Wood, added: “We are so proud of Byron in taking this next step in his career, and we can’t wait to see him make his Nottinghamshire first-team debut.

“He first joined the club as a ten-year-old, and now, seeing him sign professional terms all these years later, is a very proud moment for him and for us.

“It’s a real personal pleasure for all of us involved with the Academy and a vindication of all the hard work that goes into helping players develop.

“All of us are wishing Byron the very best of luck for the Metro Bank One Day Cup and beyond in their careers, and it goes without saying we will be following his progress closely.”
