The Blaze will now travel to Spain for their pre-season tour after the original itinerary in the United Arab Emirates was cancelled.

In light of the ongoing situation in Iran and the Middle East, the rearranged plans will see the squad now travel to Desert Springs Resort in Andalusia between 23rd and 29th March.

“It’s been a difficult period as we’ve worked hard to ensure our players could get the opportunity to spend time in an outdoor environment,” said Director of Cricket, James Cutt.

“We’d certainly have liked a longer itinerary, as we planned originally, but the constraints of rearranging our plans at short notice meant Desert Springs was the best available option to us."

The Blaze will be joined by fellow tier one outfit Durham, with the itinerary set to comprise two training days, before T20 and 50-over matches later in the week.

“That said, we’re very happy with what we’ve been able to put together, and we’re thankful to Desert Springs for accommodating us,” continued Cutt.

“We look forward to being able to continue our preparations for a summer that will be long and busy, but ultimately, we hope, successful.”
