All-rounder Ellie Phillips has signed a short-term deal with The Blaze to make her available for training and selection over the current fortnight.
Phillips, 19, is a right-arm seam-bowling all-rounder who has previously captained The Blaze Academy, and is now in the midst of a two-week contract with the senior side.
In May, she hit a century for the Academy as skipper in a three-day friendly win over Yorkshire, and has also represented tier two outfit Leicestershire since 2025.
So far in 2026, she averages 40.50 with the bat for the Foxes in List A cricket, as well as an all-formats bowling average of just 14.50.
Phillips becomes the fifth graduate from the Academy to earn a spot in the senior squad, despite that pathway being just four years old.
She follows Maria Andrews, who earned a short-term deal herself last month, while Prisha Thanawala, Amy Wheeler, and Liv Baker have also stepped up to senior cricket.
She will provide squad support to The Blaze during the third-round Vitality County Cup tie against Durham at Notts Sports Ground.
