Haseeb Hameed’s 85 helped Nottinghamshire’s Second XI to a four-wicket win over Northamptonshire, as a strong Notts side tuned up for the return of the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Batting at four, the skipper amassed his runs from 76 deliveries with 12 boundaries as the Outlaws passed the target of 279 with more than two overs to spare.
Ben Martindale (60) joined Hameed in passing 50, with 40 from Joe Pocklington and 32 from Sam Seecharan.
Earlier, the Steelbacks had been dismissed for 278 in 48.3 overs, with Lyndon James taking 4/32.
There were two wickets apiece for Pocklington and Rob Lord, with Farhan Ahmed and Byron Hatton-Lowe picking up a scalp each.
