Olly Stone was delighted to be back featuring for Outlaws and took three crucial wickets despite falling to a narrow defeat.

Stone, who has been with MI London in The Hundred, took the big wicket of centurion James Bracey before going on to take another couple of scalps. 

“It was great to be back and take three wickets; it’s just a shame we couldn’t get over the line and get closer to qualifying”, he said.

“We wrestled with momentum throughout but couldn’t quite get a build-up of overs to take that pressure a bit deeper. It was a wicket where we said just to try and keep it simple, and just try to hit your length.

“There was a tiny bit of offering in the air, and I tried to utilise that and thankfully got the breakthroughs, but it just didn’t quite help us.

“But I love being in the green and gold, so a nice run out and it was great to be back with the boys.”

Stone now looks ahead to an exciting clash on Tuesday against Surrey.

“It’s going to be an exciting finish now down in London”, he said.

“The Oval’s a great place to play cricket; it will be a good wicket, and I know there’ll be a short boundary on one side so that will be testing again.

“We’ll be pushing hard, and hopefully we can turn up there, get the win and qualify.”
