Ben Duckett and Josh Tongue are in line to represent England at Trent Bridge later this month, after both were named in the Three Lions' squad for the standalone Test against Zimbabwe (22-25 May).

Duckett, who impressed on his return to Notts colours with a quickfire fifty in a winning cause against Sussex, has been a mainstay of the Test side in recent summers.

He averages 43.20 since making his return to the format in December 2022, having hit four centuries and chalked up two fifties in last summer's Trent Bridge Test against West Indies.

Tongue, meanwhile, has taken 15 wickets at an average of 24 this County Championship summer, having played a key role in victories over Durham and Sussex.

He took five wickets on each of his two previous Test appearances, against Ireland and Australia.

The squad also includes two uncapped players at Test level - Essex duo Sam Cook and Jordan Cox.

Cook, part of Trent Rockets' squad since 2022, boasts 318 First-Class wickets at an average of 19.77, and impressed on the England Lions tour of Australia over the winter, taking 13 wickets across three matches. Cox averages 41.05 in red-ball cricket, having hit nine centuries.

This historic fixture marks Zimbabwe’s first Test on English soil since 2003 and is set to launch England’s international summer.
