Paul Franks is calling upon Notts Outlaws to produce a second successive clinical performance on the road, as Hampshire lie in wait on Wednesday 20 August (11am start).

The Outlaws chased down 278 to beat Glamorgan on Sunday, with Jack Haynes' 124 the standout contribution, to pick up their second win of the campaign.

Brett Hutton and Freddie McCann return to the squad for the trip to Wales.

“We’ve had some pretty frank discussions over the past week about how we haven’t had control, not just with the bat but with the ball," said Franks.

“But in Cardiff, every time I thought we might lose control we didn’t and that’s a really nice thing for myself and the team.”

Notts restricted Glamorgan to their total thanks to a couple of wickets on debut from Byron Hatton-Lowe.

“It was one of the greatest feelings I’ve been able to have as a coach when I told him he was playing," recalled Franks.

"To see a young man’s face light up like that was a really special thing.

“He had some influence too, he broke a couple of partnerships. He’s got a bit about him, he loves to compete and his skills will continue to improve the more opportunities he gets.”

The 50-over head coach was also full of praise for centurion Haynes.

“I thought Jack was very workmanlike for his first 50 and then once we got into a position that allowed him to put his foot down, he was brilliant,” he reflected.

“I’m really pleased for him, his fifth century in all formats this year, he looks a top class player.”

With only three games left in the Metro Bank One Day Cup group stages, Franks knows that consistency is the key as Notts seek a place in the top three - and with it, a knockout-stage berth.

“We know we haven’t got much wriggle room, in terms of being able to lose games," he said.

“We want to win every game, and we also know we want to improve, and that we have players who we want to get as much experience into as possible.

"We’ll put a team out on Wednesday that will give it a really good go.”
