Joe Clarke made 92 and Jack Haynes backed up with 55, but Nottinghamshire face a fight to stay on level terms with Somerset after a testing third day in Taunton.

Clarke and Haynes’ contributions led Notts to 338 all out in response to Somerset’s 347, leaving just nine runs between the sides after both had batted once.

However, wicketkeeper James Rew hit an unbeaten century for the hosts, who reached 214-1 at stumps, as Tom Kohler-Cadmore also contributed 94 not out.
