Emma Jones says she already feels at home among The Blaze ahead of returning to her former stomping ground of Essex in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
“I’ve just really enjoyed being with the team,” said Jones. “It’s a great team, and I’ve just loved it. I feel like I’m out in a group of people that I love being around.”
“During the game against Lancashire, my debut, I was grinning for the whole time I was on the pitch.
“You couldn’t stop me smiling ear-to-ear, just having the best time ever, and that’s going to go down as one of my favourite days of cricket ever, I think!”
Jones, who previously represented Essex under the old women’s domestic structure - when county cricket sat below the regional model, is one of 14 making the trip to Chelmsford.

“It’s what I would probably consider to be my home ground when I grew up, and it’s always good to go back there,” said Jones.
“We had a nice little run out in the practice game, so hopefully it will be a good day for it! [Essex] are definitely not a side to underestimate.
“They’ve got some good players who can do some serious damage, so we just want to make sure we’re really clear and clinical with our plans in a way that we probably weren’t against Yorkshire.”
The Blaze are boosted in their quest to bounce back from last weekend at Headingley by the return of England stars Amy Jones and Nat Sciver-Brunt.
Jones is enthused by the prospect of playing alongside the duo, having already stepped onto the field with fellow England star Tammy Beaumont, and is keen to glean as much as she can from the opportunity.
“It’s always great to have people like that in your environment that you can learn a lot off!” she said. “They’ll also improve us as a team, so I’m really looking forward to playing with them.”
On her own level, the 23-year-old is eager to continue to soak up every chance she gets, and has shunned the opportunity to set specific targets, choosing only to focus on the present.
“I’d like to put in some match-winning performances,” she said. “I think that was something I didn’t enjoy from Yorkshire. I feel like I had the ability to get us over the line.
“I’d like to put in a performance to win us a couple of games to show people what we’re made of.
“If we’re at our best, we’re going to be pretty hard to stop, so we want to make sure we’re really clinical, really clear, and that we keep being bold.”
